Lady Saw shocked fans when she said she would be leaving the dancehall world behind in 2015 and would instead her life to the Lord.

Dancehall’s once Baddest Girl Lady Saw, now known as Marion Hall, says that God has ordained her to ‘preach and teach’.  The former singer, who was baptized in December 2015, says the Lord told her that he wanted her to establish her own church.

In an interview with the Star Magazine today Hall said, “I was in Birmingham about four months ago and the Lord told me it’s time. It’s time to preach.”

The former singer, 47, says she has already gotten more equipment than she can handle for her new ministry. “A pastor gave me a drum set and then he said there were some speakers in another church that I could get, then he said he was gonna bless me with a microphone. Then I went to England. This church lady said there was a pastor who died and that she had all this equipment that he didn’t know what to do with them and she carry her car load up with all these things; a beautiful bass guitar, a piano,” she told the magazine.

However, God has not yet provided a physical location for the new church. Marion says she is not deterred and will start her mission to teach and preach on the streets of Jamaica.

“I nah start inna no building. God said to go the highways and the byways. The first place he sent me was to Back Road to find that one lady so God’s word will not return to Him void. I’m going to go to ‘Back Road’ again and the female prison,” she said.

Hall also says that God has provided a powerful name for the church, but declined to revealed it now.  “It’s not just one name, it’s a compact name with Jesus Christ along with some other powerful names,” she said. “This is my joy. When I go on the streets and I’m spreading the word of God, I’m happy.”

Lady Saw had well-known dancehall hits like Sycamore Tree, Heels On and Man is the Least.

Mr Vegas recently called on Lady Saw to return to Dancehall as the genre’s rightful Queen, but Hall has no intentions of leaving her Christian path as she clearly stated in another interview that she still has lot of money and that “mi still a wear mi high end shoes caw mi serve a high end God”.
