Chet Hanks Gets Nod Of Approval From Popcaan
Chet Hanks, the son of Tom Hanks, is using his recent push into the media spotlight to cash in on his love of the Jamaican culture.
He was recently chastised by many social media users for what some have described as a cringe-worthy clip of himself on Instagram speaking Jamaican Patois as he walked the red carpet on Sunday night.
The incident took place at the Golden Globes where he went to support his father, who was being presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement.
In another Instagram video Chet vibes to Popcaan’s 2016 hit Ova Dweet and says, “HAD 2 #OVADWEET 1 TIME MI DROP 1 BIG CHUNE PON SOUNDCLOUD GO LISTEN RIGHT NOW LINK IN BIO LINK IN BIO LINK IN BIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #HARLEY #HARLEY #HARLEY GOIN UP LIKE 7 STR88888888 @somethingoutwest @harleydavidson #popcaan#RESPECT.”
And it seems he’s gotten the nod of approval from the ever popular Unruly Boss, who responded to Hanks’ post simply saying: “maddd”.

The post has since gotten over 140, 000 views and close to 500 views. Some of the commenters on the post who weren’t familiar with Popcaan’s music said they had to admit that the song ‘Ova Dweet’ was hot.
One poster said: “Wow, im liking this song,” while another who seemed familiar with his music said: “Mi love it….love how u love our culture 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 big up urself”.
Some people were not for his use of the music however, as one fan said: “Clown, You’re a Hanks. You couldn’t be any softer”.
Before that post Hanks’ posted a short clip to the same site once again using Jamaican Patois. At one point he says: “everything tun up” and added: “me soon forward ah yard.” That post has over 280 000 views.
The negative comments didn’t seem to shake his love for Jamaican culture as he took to Instagram once more to add: “NOTHING BUT LOVE ❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH #JAMAICA 🇯🇲 FOR ALL THE LOVE YOU HAVE BEEN SENDING ME IT IS FELT DEEPLY!!!! 💚 IM DEFINITELY TRYING TO MAKE A TRIP DOWN THERE ASAP!!!! It seems that his love of the culture has also inspired him to try and do a Dancheall collaboration. Maybe Popcaan will take him on and show him the ropes?
