In a victorious post to his official Instagram page (@skillibeng), the East Syde Records dancehall artiste shared the good news with his growing list of followers.

The track has been on replay on the radio, on blast in passing cars and is the song played at the peak of the dance. In fact, since 2020 arrived fans have been wishing each other “bricks pon bricks” for the new year.

If by chance you reside under a rock (or a brick in this case) and don’t yet have “brik pon brick pon brick” on repeat in your head a quick listen to the track below will easily address that.

Despite featuring a news clip of an anchor reporting on lottery scamming in Jamaica Skillibeng is adamant that he is in no way promoting the lifestyle.

In a recent interview Onstage the Brick Boss, as he calls himself, clarified to host Winfred Williams – “Basically we just a try express how much money we want to accumulate just doing what we a do naturally. And we wah have fun while making we money… It’s just artistry, if the fans dem wah say a scamming dem can call it wah dem wah ‘cause a dem me do it fa”

Notably, Skillibeng is not the first dancehall artiste to get the term brick pon brick trending. Teejay’s Henne & Weed released earlier in 2019 features the slang being used in the same sense of anticipating abundance. (bricks pon bricks, dat mi need)
