Former US President Barack Obama has included Koffee’s smash hit Toast among his favorite music of 2019.

“From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick,” Obama wrote in a tweet to his followers today.

Toast was the only reggae track among the 35 songs included on the list.

Toast was also included on the former president’s summer playlist in August this year. Koffee responded to that playlist by tweeting “Gratitude really is a must”.

The 19-year-old singer made history this year when she became the youngest solo reggae artist to be nominated for a Grammy in the Best Reggae Album category for her debut album Rapture.

Other songs included on President Obama’s end of year list were Juice by Lizzo, Old Town Road (Remix) by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, Middle Child by J. Cole and Playing Games by Summer Walker.

Obama also released lists of his favorite books, movies and television shows over the weekend. “American Factory” and “Fleabag” topped the list of favorite movies and TV shows, while The Fight for a Human Future at the New Frontier of Power” by Shoshana Zuboff topped his list of favorite books.

In a Instagram post, he wrote that the yearly lists have become a fun little tradition for him.
