Grace ‘Spice’ Hamilton is a woman about about her business, she says. The Jamaican dancehall queen took to her Instagram page yesterday, to apologize to fans for the cancellation of a show in the United States and to address bad promoters.

The show in question was a ‘Black, Yellow and Green Night’ featuring Spice and Haitan entertainer Blondedy Ferdinand at the Eclispe Ultra Lounge in Columbus, Ohio. Spice says she decided not to go to the event after the promoter provided no travel or accommodation arrangements. Ohio area fans who paid $50USD in advance and $400 for the VIP were disappointed by the show’s cancellation.

In her post to over 2 million followers, Spice said it was unfair to the fans who bought advance tickets when promoters do not ensure the artists needs are meet for them to travel to the venue. She apologized to fans saying, “I apologize to Columbus , I had no travel tickets and every thing was last minute, it was beyond my control”.

Spice said that going forward she will now adopt an upfront payment policy with dancehall promoters to ensure issues like these do not happen in the future. “IF I DON’T POST IT I’M NOT WITH IT. Again the good will have to suffer for the bad so promoters will now have to paythe few, pay for the travel and hotel accommodations before I even post a flyer to my fans simple”, she said.

Blondedy expressed disappointment that she was unable to share the stage with Spice. “As a black women to be next to Spice it meant something to me and to my people representing my people just like she’s representing hers. Spice is an inspiration to many black women that are trying to make a name and money to take care of their family while their own people won’t let them”, she said in a Instagram comment.

Hamilton ended the no-nonsense post by stating she will not take the blame for anyone and wished fans a #HappySunday.
