Dancehall Reacts To Jamaican Toni-Ann Singh Being Crowned Miss World 2019

There’s a new Miss World 2019 and she’s from Jamaica. Minutes ago, Toni-Ann Singh was crowned the 69th Miss World; making her the 4th Jamaican to be given this prestigious title.

We all watched with bated breath as the lovely ladies in ExCel London graced the stage with poise and beauty, but there could only be one winner. Singh stormed through the sea of 120 contestants by being awarded the Top Talent, which automatically earned her a spot in Top 40.

Her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”, which was also showcased on the international stage, blew the audience away.

Persons from the entertainment and political fraternity, have been sharing their excitement on social media. Miss World 1993, Lisa Hanna, who was the 3rd Jamaican to be given the title, was one of the first persons who highlighted Singh. “Looking forward to seeing you become Miss World 2019! You did it. Congratulations @toniannsingh Proud of your beyond words! #Jamaica4thMissWorld”

One twitter user reminded us that both Lisa Hanna and Toni-ann wore the bandana for cultural wear at the pageant and both snatched the title.

Popcaan, who hails from the parish of St. Thomas, was elated that Singh was the new winner of the pageant.

“There’s a total different light shining on st Thomas parish right now, and it makes me very happy to see someone else from the parish flourishing and making us all proud. Go Toni Ann you have me and my whole team support🙏🏿✊🏿 #MISSWORLD2019”, he proudly posted.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness was among the first to welcome the new Queen.  The Most Honorable “Bro Gad” said on Twitter: “We have the biggest hearts and most talented people! Congratulations @toniannsingh on winning the crown #MissWorld2019. You made us so proud. Continue to be a fantastic role model for our young women in Jamaica. Miss Jamaica to the world!”

Spice posted her congratulatory message through a repost from The Shade Room, “Yessss goodie you come out pan dem . Di gal out and bad stunting congratulations to Miss Jamaica🇯🇲 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 crowned Miss World 🌎 #Blackgirlmagic bright and fiesty 💙💙💙 Talk to we nice”.
