Portmore Music Fest Promises An Even Bigger And Better Show This Year

Some big names have been confirmed for the upcoming Portmore Music Fest. The show, which is carded for December 28, will feature a long list of hit makers like Sean Paul, Chi Ching Ching, Lutan Fyah, Mega Banton, Quada, I Wayne, Don Yute, and Bascom X. Beenie Man and Tommy Lee Sparta stole the show last year.

The show is in its fourth installation and has been growing each year. Last year more than 7000 patrons attended and organisers usually donate a part of the proceeds to charity organisations community. This year’s staging is expected to include a sound system showcase, a stage show and a food court.It is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm at the UDC Car Park Portmore in St Catherine this Saturday.

Director of the organising committee Steve Billings told the Jamaica Observer that: “A new addition to the fest this year is a Portmore Music Fest Road Tour Series, which kicked off in Spanish Town and will see artistes on the line-up and emerging talent from other list of stops performing inside of a live outside broadcast in Half-Way-Tree, Old Harbour, May Pen, and Portmore.”

Even more exciting for Dancehall fans is that this year’s show will feature a mix of artistes from 90s to present. This year is expected to follow the same format as last year with the first night featuring the Ultimate Sound System Sound Off, a fashion show and dance exhibitions.

The second night of the festival features the live show.

“This year, the festival has stepped up its offerings with booths such as Budville/Rastafari Village (Cannabis Zone); Beauty Zone featuring cosmetics and personal care for ladies,” said Billings. As the show continues to grow from strength to strength organisers are expecting an even bigger turnout this year.
